Perennial Leek

Ref : L0467 - Allium ampeloprasum
Bag of 1 gram

Perpetual leeks produce a small stalk that must be harvested by cutting it a few centimetres from the ground, when it reaches 1 or 2 cm in diameter. In just a few weeks, a new leek will appear! In cooking, it can be used as a "classic" leek or as a condiment.

At the end of the season, pull up the leek stalk, collect the 6 or 7 bulblets and put them back in the ground for the following year.

online, in nurseries, in the ground

Sow in a nursery or in the ground, lightly tamping the soil and keeping it cool. If necessary, thin out about 1 month after sowing. When plants have reached the size of a pencil, shorten the leaves and transplant every 10 to 12 cm, in 10 cm-deep furrows spaced 30 cm apart. In regions with mild climates, it is possible to sow in August and transplant in November for an early spring harvest.

Perpetual leeks only need water in the event of prolonged drought or extreme heat. More hardy than "classic" leeks, it will adapt to any conditions and offers much better pest resistance!
