Japanese wormwood - Artemisia
This perennial wormwood can grow to over a metre in height. Extremely medicinal, it is used in the composition of moxas in Chinese and Japanese medicine. Its leaves repel insects and are used in fumigation rituals.
Very popular in Japan - where this species is known as Yomogi, Kui-hao and Ssuk - its young leaves are eaten as a condiment.

Sow on the surface in pots or trays, under light cover. Press lightly and keep the seedling moist. Transplant seedlings into individual cups when they have 2 true leaves. Transplant into the ground when they have 5 to 6 leaves and the soil has warmed up.
