Laminaria is a brown Breton seaweed. Fermented kelp extract is rich in trace elements, vitamins and minerals. It is an excellent stimulator of plants' natural defenses, making them more resistant to disease and pests.

Recommendations for use

Use in synergy with fermented nettle extract against mildew.
Laminaria purin should not be used as a curative. It is strongly recommended to treat attacks with decoctions and macerations, then when the plant has been well cared for, repeat the treatment with fermented kelp extract.

Fighting mildew with fermented extract of Laminaria

Downy mildew is a fungal disease of plants. Its appearance and spread are favored by heat and humidity. It can be harmful to both amateur and professional gardeners. Nevertheless, it can be easily and quickly identified: brownish-yellow spots appear above the leaves. These then gradually dry out. Since it can survive in the soil for 3 to 5 years and is frost-resistant, there are a number of ways to prevent infection: water without wetting the leaves, grow under cover, rotate crops from one year to the next and, above all, aerate the vegetable garden well: in the greenhouse or garden, remember to space the plants far enough apart so that the leaves can dry out.

But what to do once mildew has set in? The first recommendation is to cut off infested leaves, taking care not to leave them at the foot of the crop, as this could spread the infection to the soil.

An excellent preventive against mildew, it helps plants to be more resistant to disease and pest attacks. Used in synergy withfermented Nettle extract, Laminaria is a preventive treatment. Dilute to 5% for foliar spraying (0.5L for 10L of water) and apply 2 to 3 times a month.

Caution: overdosing can have the opposite effect. The sugars contained in fermented kelp extract can attract pests and diseases.

Dilutions

To dilute plant extracts, use rainwater or spring water at room temperature. Tap water contains too much chlorine and limestone, which oxidizes the soil. It can alter the effects of soil care by counteracting the effect of bacteria.

For foliar spraying, dilute at 3%: 0.3 L in 10 liters of rainwater, 2 to 3 times a month. When spraying, you can add 3% black soap (surfactant).

For soil watering, dilute at 10%: 1L in 10 liters of rainwater, 2 to 3 times a month.
