Cupani - Sweet Pea
This ancient variety, introduced to England in 1699 by Franciscus Cupani, a Sicilian monk, is close to the wild type. It grows to a height of 2.50 m and produces an abundance of highly fragrant purple and dark purple flowers.

Sow directly in the ground, in rows 25 cm apart. In mild climates, it is possible to sow in place in autumn, for earlier spring flowering. In other regions, autumn sowing in pots in a greenhouse or greenhouse frame will also ensure early flowering. Transplant in spring.
