Volcanic basalt is a fine powder (0/2mm) of young eruptive rock. It is found everywhere under the earth's mantle. Highly nutritious, it is rich in trace elements and minerals, including cobalt, which helps synthesize vitamin C and B12, and rebalance soil PH and redox levels. This mineral amendment will increase the soil's paramagnetism (its capacity to host microbial life), enabling plants to become more resistant to disease and pests, promote plant development and better adapt to drought.

Use

In pots, mix 20 to 100 g of Volcanic Basalt for 1 kg of soil. For the garden, spread 20 to 50 grs of Volcanic Basalt per 1 m2 of soil and scratch to penetrate the surface layers. For the minerals in Basalt to become bio-available, you need soil with good microbial activity. This means enriching it with the bacteria and fungi found in: home-made compost, Lombricompost, Biochar, fermented plant extracts, MAB (beneficial indigenous micro-organisms) or EM. Be sure to use the correct dosage. Volcanic basalt contains 42% silica. This mineral can have a prism effect when exposed to sunlight. Light will pass through the mirror that is silica and risk scorching the soil. Store in a dry place away from sources of heat.
