Stevia rebaudiana
This is the sugar plant that was banned for many years by the authorities - so as not to overshadow the sugar industry. It has been used for millennia by the peoples of Paraguay.
Stevia's antihyperglycemic, antidiabetic, slimming and even anticariogenic effects make it an incredible alternative to one of the world's most widespread drugs: refined sugar.

Sow in trays, under a well-lit shelter, at a temperature of at least 20°C. Cover seeds sparingly and keep moist by spraying regularly. Seeds must not dry out. Once the plants have reached a height of around ten centimetres, transplant into pots or in the ground, in warm soil.
Seed germination is very temperamental. Leaves are harvested as needed, all year round if the plant is indoors.
