This bushy perennial has many medicinal properties. Its lemony-scented leaves can be used fresh or dried, as aromatics, in infusions, liqueurs or desserts.

Sow in pots under a well-lit shelter. Transplant in spring or autumn, when plants are well developed, 50 cm apart in all directions. Keep soil cool to facilitate emergence.
Very easy to grow, lemon balm can be reseeded and suckered to create a veritable carpet. Older plants can be divided in September or early spring, by selecting splinters from around the perimeter.
