This ancient variety has all the qualities of mustard and broccoli. Leaves, stems and flower buds can be eaten raw or lightly cooked. They are both sweet and bitter. Stems are often preferred to leaves for their less pronounced flavor.

Sow in pots under cover. Cover seeds with a thin layer of soil. Transplant when plants have 2 to 3 leaves, at 10 cm intervals, and when plants have 4 to 5 leaves, at 50 cm intervals in rows 50 cm apart, without burying the stem too deeply.
Spring sowing is possible as long as it is carried out just after the last frosts, to minimize the risk of early bolting.
