Artemisia herbal tea

Ref : SI1122

Symbol of healing and resilience, Artemisia annua offers incredible virtues!

A true concentration of active principles, our dried leaves and flowering tops of Artemisia annua, available in 50-gram sachets, are prepared as a herbal tea. Grown in Ariège under organic farming, our Artemisia is harvested, chopped and dried artisanally at the optimal stage of growth to obtain a maximal concentration of terpenes, flavonoids, etc., including artemisinin, renowned for its effectiveness against malaria.

Properties and virtues of Artemisia annua:

On a daily basis, Artemisia is particularly useful to relieve fevers related to flu-like illnesses.

As an adaptogen, it also helps to increase the body’s resilience and to improve overall health. In this context, it should be taken as a treatment lasting no more than 3 weeks.

In Africa, Artemisia annua is reputed throughout the continent for its incredible efficiency in the fight against malaria.

But that’s not all — it also possesses a great many properties, both for treating serious infectious diseases and for everyday ailments. Indeed, it is insect-repellent; digestive; healing; antipyretic; anticancer; antifungal; antispasmodic; diuretic; antioxidant; anti-inflammatory; antibacterial and antiparasitic.

Preparation of Artemisia annua tea:

Ingredients: dried leaves and flowering tops of Artemisia annua — approx. 5 g per 1 litre of water.

Preparation: boil the water, then pour it while still simmering over the Artemisia leaves and flowers in a teapot (do not re-boil the plant — its active compounds may be degraded). Cover and let infuse for 10 to 15 minutes.

Strain and enjoy! If the taste is too bitter, add a little honey or a dash of lemon or orange juice — according to your preference.

“Classic” dosage (traditional use as infusion)

Drink 3 to 5 cups per day, for regular use or as a course, depending on the desired effects. The dosage should naturally be adapted to the severity of the condition and to the person’s age. In doubt, consult your doctor or naturopath and proceed gently. If you need to test, experiment, be patient and listen to your body — one should never consume Artemisia, or any medicinal herb, blindly!

Precautions for use of Artemisia annua:

Traditional Chinese medicine recommends against Artemisia annua for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or women with postpartum anemia, and also advises against its use for anyone with gastric or spleen sensitivities or for people suffering from diarrhea.

Storage of Artemisia annua tea:

Dried plants should be stored away from light and humidity. Very stable when stored properly, the active compounds can remain present in the plant for up to one year after harvest, even if the appearance of the leaves may degrade slightly.

Artemisia annua was the featured plant of the 2019 edition of the “Cultivons-Nous ! For the Liberation of Medicinal Plants” campaign.
