Ratibida

Ratibida

Ratibida are medicinal plants in the Asteraceae family and Heliantheae tribe. The Ratibida genus comprises 6 known species. Amerindians have always used ratibida, which is common on the prairies. It was a fodder plant consumed by livestock, but also a dye plant - its flowers provide an orange-yellow dye - and a medicinal plant. Its dried young leaves and flowering tops can be used to treat headaches, gastrointestinal disorders, coughs, etc. In decoction, the stems and leaves of this plant were used to treat skin ailments.
