Hollyhock

Hollyhocks - genus Alcea - are plants in the Malvaceae family and Malveae tribe. The plants have large flowering stems, sometimes reaching 3 m in height, and are renowned for their prolonged, generous and colorful flowering. The Alcea genus comprises some 50 known species. In the Kokopelli catalog, depending on the season and harvest, you'll find two species: Alcea ficifolia - biennial or short-lived perennial - and Alcea rosea - perennial with a wide range of colors. Flowers and buds are edible.
